Congratulations! To Ghada Huleis, Principal of Salem Lutheran School. Mrs. Huleis was recently awarded The 2004 Principal of the Year award from the the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Mrs. Huleis has been with Salem for over a dozen years, first as third grade teacher and for the last decade as principal.

Here is an excerpt of the letter written to the congregation from the ELCA:

April 5, 2004

Dear Members of Salem Lutheran Congregation,

The Division for Higher Education and Schools of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America celebrates the selection of Mrs. Ghada Huleis as the 2004 Principal of the Year. Her persistence, professionalism and ministry filled with prayer have been acknowledged and affirmed throughout the nomination and selection process.

God provides Lutheran schools with faithful leaders. Without fanfare or praise expected they serve in their ministries to touch the lives of teachers, congregations, families and every child in their schools. As a leader at Salem Lutheran School, Mrs. Huleis diligently works to build special programs, secure the best curriculums, provide challenges and the extra help it sometimes takes for a child to achieve. She provides support and nurture for children, families, the school community and the supporting congregations.
