PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION
Respecting His World
The purpose of the PTO is to support the mission of Salem Lutheran School through fellowship activities and Special events that raise funds to benefit the Children, Teachers and campus. Just by having a child a Salem, Parents are members of the PTO.
There are no membership dues.
So many of the wonderful things that happen at Salem are a direct result of parent participation. Events such as the Family Festival, Parents' Night Out, The Jog-A-Thon, and the on-going maitenence of the Library, happen because of the dedicated Parent Volunteers.

PTO Meeting This Friday, June 13th
Dear Parents,
We will have a short PTO meeting this Friday, June 13th at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel to install next year’s PTO co-presidents. Since many of you will attend the last chapel at 10:30am, we hope that you can join us.
We still need a Vice President (or co-VP’s) and Treasurer. The treasurer’s position has been re-structured next year to simplify the duties. The school bookkeeper will be assisting the treasurer with recordkeeping and financial reporting. Please let me know on Friday if you would be willing to serve in the PTO next year.
2008-2009 COMMITTEE SIGN-UPS
If you have not already completed your 2008-2009 committee sign up form, please return the attached completed committee sign-up form on Friday. It would be very helpful if you could sign up now so that the incoming PTO can better prepare for next year.
A Note from the PTO President
A parent asked me recently, “Why did you want to become PTO President this year?” I would like to share that response with all of you. Part of the reason is because my children have received so much from this school that I wanted to give back. The other reason is because I am truly thankful to all of the volunteers who have touched the lives of my children, either directly or indirectly. Whether is takes the form of a smile from a parent as my child checks out a book from the library, buys an ice cream at the Salem Social, or contributes to the fundraisers so that our school can keep growing and improving, it’s the collaborative efforts of many parents that contribute to our great school. Thank you for all of your efforts this year.
Thank you for all of your help throughout the year. Our children have truly benefited by your continued support.
Have a wonderful summer!
Sincerely,
Lorena Parker
