NOVEMBER 1, 2011

 

NOVEMBER VOCABULARY lists are now available - please contact me and I will e-mail to you until my webpage is fixed.

 

All vocabulary lists - Grades 1 through 6 - are usually attached as links that you can download and print at home....but right now my webpage is experiencing problems.

JR.KINDERGARTEN:
NOVEMBER:
We will learn the basic food items in Spanish: leche - milk, calabasa - pumpkin, pan - bread, pavo - turkey, agua - water  
We will also learn "theme" words for the season that follow Miss Anita's curriculum.

We will continue working on learning the Spanish names for colors and numbers.

Contact me if you need a copy of the list of the colors and numbers in Spanish.

 

KINDERGARTEN:

NOVEMBER:

We will be learning various food items in Spanish:leche - milk, pan - bread, huevos - eggs, pollo - chicken, pavo - turkey
We will always refer back to colors and numbers throughout the school year.

Contact me if you need a copy of the list of the colors and numbers in Spanish.


1ST GRADE:

NOVEMBER:

I will provide 2 copies of the monthly vocabulary sheet so students will have a copy to use at home and one to use in class.

If you need an additional copy you can contact me and I will e-mail you one.

We continue to review the colors and numbers throughout the school year.

For November - we will learn the Spanish words for various fruits. 

 2ND GRADE:

NOVEMBER:

I will provide 2 copies of the monthly vocabulary sheet so students will have a copy to use at home and one to use in class.

If you need an additional copy you can contact me and I will e-mail you one.

We will continue to review the colors and numbers for the next few months.

For November - we will learn the Spanish words for various food items. We will also continue to review the Spanish numbers up to 20.

3RD GRADE:

NOVEMBER:

We will be learning the Spanish words for various traditional Thanksgiving items. New this year is the concept that in Spanish all nouns are gender specific - male or female, and alwys relate to the singular or plural. This is called the definite article - "el", "la", "los", "las" - the Spanish word for "the". 

We will also review the basics of colors and numbers up to 100.

Homework will be assigned on a regular basis - usually 2-3 times per month.

 

4TH GRADE:

NOVEMBER:

We will be learning the Spanish words, phrases, and basic sentences about food and the 3 main meals of the day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We will begin to learn the use of Spanish verbs and how thay are conjugated. We will begin to create basic sentences and practice speaking what we have created.

Verbs for NOVEMBER: comer (to eat) and usar (to use)

We will also review the basics of colors, numbers up to 100, and the use of the definite article.

Homework will be assigned on a regular basis - usually weekly.

 

5TH GRADE:

NOVEMBER:

For the month of November we will be learning words, phrases, and basic sentences about Thanksgiving and items used to set a table.

We will continue the use of Spanish verbs and how thay are conjugated. We will continue to create basic sentences, ultimately building up to short compositions. We will also have regular practice speaking what we have created.

November vers: usar (to use) and servir (to serve) 

We will also review the basics of colors, numbers up to 1000, and the use of the definite article.

Homework will be assigned on a regular basis - usually weekly.

  

6TH GRADE:

NOVEMBER:

For the month of November we will be learning words, phrases, and basic sentences about Thanksgiving and the items used when shopping.

November verbs: comer (to eat) and comprar (to buy)

We will continue the use of Spanish verbs and how thay are conjugated. We will continue to create basic sentences, ultimately building up to short compositions. We will also have regular practice speaking as we will be reading many short stories in Spanish. 

We will also review the basics learned in previous years.

Homework will be assigned on a regular basis - usually weekly.
